Eloli named a fashion start-up to watch by The Kit Magazine

Brands like Fendi, Birkin and Mulberry are more likely to be name dropped by the average fashionista these days, but Canadians on the hunt for the next “It” bag should stop and take notice of designer Sume Ndumbe-Eyoh. The 29-year-old Torontonian makes handcrafted bags with her sisters Dibo, 34, and Fese, 25, under their Eloli brand. They source the one-of-a-kind, beautiful African prints for their purses from Yaounde, Cameroon, where it is then shipped to Toronto and turned into one-off pieces.Although the items are sold in Toronto, Yaounde and London (England, that is) the brand is keen to keep their Canadian roots intact, which can be seen in the subtle homage to nature found in their work. The polished bags, made from supple crocodile leather, feature detachable straps and demure zippers that allow it to easily double for the office and a girl’s night out.
What can we say. Words fail us and what's left is joy and gratitude.
